Maureen Denise McCormick is the daughter and youngest child of Richard McCormick. She was born August 5th, 1956 in Woodland Hills California. Her father was a school teacher while her mother was an at-home mom. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick was a talented singer and performer from the age of 6. Her passion was to put on shows with puppets for the neighbors. When she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 an old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see what she thought about getting into the world of entertainment. McCormick had her first significant job when she was cast in the 1964 television commercial of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she starred in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty-Cathy's doll. After that, she was chosen by La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the character It up before It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the third of three head-to-head daughters in The Brady Bunch (1969) with Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the show, she almost lost her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. At the time, she was 16 and he was 19. She told me that it could have been feasible, but it was never the best time to do it.
